PH Med Houston Heights treatment rooms — Botox and neuromodulators

Not All Botox Appointments Are Equal

In most med spas, a neuromodulator appointment means a technician, a standard dosing chart, and a few minutes of injections. In the Heights, you have a different option. At PH Med, every neuromodulator treatment is performed personally by Dr. Bui — a physician who assesses your facial anatomy and muscle patterns before a single unit is drawn up.

The difference shows in the outcome. Lines soften while expression stays. Brows sit where they should. And because dosing is tailored rather than templated, results last the way they’re supposed to.

The PH Med standard: your treatment plan is built from your anatomy — assessed, not assumed. That’s the same precision-first philosophy behind our ultrasound-guided injectable program.

What Neuromodulators Treat

  • Forehead lines and frown lines — the classic “elevens” and horizontal creases.
  • Crow’s feet — softening around the eyes without flattening your smile.
  • Facial balance — subtle adjustments that keep everything in proportion.
  • Preventative treatment — relaxing overactive patterns before lines set in.

Neuromodulators are one of three injectable categories at PH Med, alongside dermal fillers and collagen-stimulating biostimulators — often sequenced together in a single plan.

Your Appointment

  • Consultation first. Dr. Bui reviews your goals, history, and facial movement patterns.
  • Tailored dosing. Units are placed where your anatomy calls for them — not where a chart says.
  • Quick visit. Most neuromodulator appointments are complete well within the hour.
  • Results timeline. Effects typically develop over the following days, with a natural, rested look — and a predictable maintenance cadence thereafter.

Common Questions

Will I look frozen?

Not with tailored dosing. The goal is targeted muscle relaxation — softening lines while your expression stays yours.

Who actually performs the injections?

Dr. Bui, personally, at every appointment. Nothing is delegated to a technician.

Where are you located?

In the heart of the Heights at 1051 Heights Blvd, Suite 130 — serving Houston Heights, Timbergrove, Garden Oaks, and greater Houston.

How Neurotoxins Actually Work

Botox, Dysport, Xeomin and similar products are all neuromodulators — purified proteins that temporarily interrupt the signal between a nerve and a muscle. When a specific muscle stops contracting as forcefully, the skin above it stops creasing, and the lines that come from repeated movement soften.

That is the entire mechanism, and it explains everything about how the treatment should be performed. Neurotoxins do not fill, lift, or add volume — they relax. Which muscles get relaxed, how much, and in what pattern is the whole art. Two people with identical-looking forehead lines can need completely different treatment plans because their underlying muscle patterns differ.

This is why a dosing chart is not a treatment plan. At PH Med, Dr. Bui assesses your facial movement before deciding anything — where your brow sits at rest and in motion, which muscles are dominant, how your face is likely to compensate. The plan follows the anatomy.

Areas We Treat

Upper Face

  • Glabellar lines (“the elevens”) — the vertical lines between the brows that read as anger or worry.
  • Forehead lines — horizontal creases, treated in balance with the brow so it doesn’t drop.
  • Crow’s feet — softened around the eyes while keeping a natural smile.

Lower Face & Balance

  • Lip flip — a small dose that lets the upper lip roll outward slightly.
  • Chin dimpling — smoothing the pebbled texture of an overactive mentalis.
  • Masseter treatment — for jaw tension and facial width, assessed case by case.
  • Neck bands — softening vertical platysmal cords.

What Results Look Like — and When

  • Days 2–4: the first softening becomes noticeable.
  • Days 10–14: full effect. This is when we assess and refine if needed.
  • Months 3–4: movement gradually returns. This is your natural retreatment window.
  • Over time: patients who treat on a consistent cadence often find lines at rest become less etched, because the skin isn’t being folded as forcefully between treatments.
The 90-day rhythm matters more than any single appointment. Neurotoxin results are maintained, not achieved. Patients who let treatment lapse for six or eight months are effectively starting over each time. We book the next visit before you leave so the cadence holds.

Before and After Your Treatment

Before

  • Avoid blood thinners and alcohol for 24 hours where medically appropriate, to reduce bruising.
  • Come with clean skin and tell us about any prior neurotoxin treatment — including when and how much.

After

  • Stay upright for about four hours.
  • Skip strenuous exercise, saunas, and facials for 24 hours.
  • No rubbing or massaging the treated areas.
  • Small bumps at injection sites settle within an hour; occasional pinpoint bruising resolves in a few days.

Why Houston Heights Patients Choose Physician-Performed

Most neurotoxin appointments in Houston are performed by a technician or nurse injector working from a standard protocol. That is legal and often perfectly fine. But the difference shows in the cases that aren’t standard — an asymmetric brow, a heavy upper lid, a face that has been over-treated elsewhere and needs a corrective plan rather than more product.

At PH Med, Dr. Bui performs every injection personally, in a practice built on imaging-guided precision. If something is outside what we treat, we say so and refer you to the right specialist. And if you ever believe you’re experiencing a medical emergency, seek emergency care immediately.

Why Neighbors in the Heights Choose PH Med

PH Med was built on a simple conviction: aesthetic medicine should be held to a medical standard. That means a physician — not a technician — performing every treatment. It means imaging on the table, not intuition alone. And it means honest scope: when something falls outside what we treat, we say so and refer you to the right specialist.

That standard shows up in what patients say — over a hundred five-star Google reviews and counting from the Heights and greater Houston. It shows up in how plans are built: single treatments where a single treatment is right, and sequenced, stacked protocols where combining modalities delivers more than any one alone. And it shows up in the consult itself, which begins with your goals and your anatomy — never with a sales script.

We’re an appointment-only studio at 1051 Heights Blvd, Suite 130 — in the neighborhood, for the neighborhood.
